Top 10 Book Series for Elementary Students

This is a list of books that I feel are the Top 10 book series that elementary students would love to read.

Best friends Ivy (smart and shy) and Bean (rambunctious), weren’t likely to become best friends, but once they met they have tons of fun together.  This is a great series for girls of all ages and it is well written by Annie Barrows and illustrated by Sophie Blackall.  This is a great story!

Written like a comic strip, this funny book series follows a six-grade boy named Nate Wright.  He is not very interested in school, which usually causes him to get into some mischief.  This hilarious book is written and illustrated by Lincoln Peirce, who does a great job keeping this book engaging and fun. ENJOY!

This book series is very popular for those kids that are just beginning to read chapter books.  This large book series takes the reader on adventures and missions to ancient worlds, historical events, and other eras.  This is a fantastic book series by Mary Pope Osborne, and should be enjoyed by children of all ages.

The book is based in a post-apocalyptic city that is running out of power and supplies.  It is up to two young friends to find a way out of the city and save all its people.  Through this series, the author Jeanne Duprau, takes the reader on an adventure of how this city came about and how to save it.

Follow the diary entries of 14-year old Nikki Maxwell, as she uses drawings and words to communicate the drama that is middle school.  Dork Diaries is the girls answers to Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and author Rachel Renee Russell does a great job relating her characters to her audience and this is a great read.

These books are a secret and so is the story.  Written by Pseudonymous Bosch, this series if full of secrets and mysteries, so you need to read to find out what these books are all about.  You will NOT be sorry!

Three orphan kids, who were left with a wealth of money by their parents, live an unfortunate life.  In this series, Lemony Snicket writes about three children trying to escape their evil Uncle Count Olaf.  Children will love the mystery and suspense of not knowing what will happen to the three orphan kids.

Tom Angleberger did an amazing job integrating two things that kids enjoy, reading and Star Wars.  This series follows dork named Dwight who talks to his Origami Yoda he made.  The puppet gives advice and helps other students through their problems.  Not only does the book reference Star Wars, but it also shows how kids can make their own origami.

Beware! This book series will be tickling your funny bone and will having you on the floor laughing.  Written by Jeff Kinney, this book series follows Greg Heffley as he deals with many things ranging from friends to sibling, and many other things that kids can relate to.

This famous book series is written by the brillant J.K. Rowling.  The seven book series follows around three wizards (Harry, Ron, and Hermione) as they go through school at Hogwarts.  From the beginning to end of the series, Harry fights against the Dark Magic and the evil Voldermort.  The amazing writing of J.K. Rowling and the engaging subject matter makes this the number one book for elementary students to read.
